How the Marjorie McCune Community Began
The Majorie McCune Community began in the 1970’s when Marjorie McCune, the first blind social worker in Buncombe County, approached Lions in Western North Carolina with a dream. That dream was that visually impaired individuals have a place to receive long term care in a beautiful environment. Lions in Western North Carolina agreed to make her dream come true.
Originally intended to accommodate the visually impaired, the Majorie McCune Community has become home to many persons with various needs of assistance.
Today, the Majorie McCune Community continues its mission of offering the most complete care with individual programs and activities. And most importantly, fulfilling a wonderful lifestyle for its residents. We promote a community with fellowship and friendships.
The Marjorie McCune Community is located only 12 minutes from exciting Asheville and forty minutes from historic Hendersonville.
