OUR MISSION In the spirit of Lionism, to serve the needs of the blind and to enhance the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all residents with independence, freedom of choice and dignity in a home like environment.

INSTALLATION OF WNC LION’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS was held in the chapel at the center. This well attended event was a big success with DG Lion Max Bumgardner passing the gavel for presidency to Lion Dr. Mary Sedgwick. Officers were elected and committees were formed to assure another year of kindness and many successes.

AMAZONSMILE.COM When you order from Amazon please consider using Amazon Smile and listing Western North Carolina, Inc as your charity of choice. We can assist you with the process if needed. A percentage of your purchase will go to the Center at no cost to you.

FALL VOLUNTEER DAY is September 28th @ 9 a.m. A divine breakfast and country lunch will be served to all of the volunteers. Volunteers from last year and people connected to our community will be receiving an email. There is a meaningful project for all, and the fellowship can’t be beat!

40TH ANNIVERSARY The center is 40 years old this month! We’re working on a celebration for November and want all of the Lions that have supported our center to celebrate with us. More information coming.

ADOPT A ROOM THANK YOU HAW CREEK LIONS, WEAVERVILLE LIONS AND THE ASHEVILLE PROFESSIONAL LIONS FOR COMMITTING TO ADOPT A ROOM!! Please consider this project for our new Lion’s year. A room is adopted for $1,000; allowing us to replace or repair flooring, painting, pictures, bedspreads, sheets, curtains, shades, furnishings, and all of the niceties that make our resident’s rooms special.

Once a room is adopted, we put a gold plaque on the door of the room to recognize the Club or individual that made the transformation possible and honor the donors at our Thanksgiving Banquet. This project directly affects the people of our community and isn’t used in any other area of the building.
